👶 What does teledentistry involve?
- Live consultations: Two-way video conversations with a dental professional.
- Later review: Photographs, videos or other records sent for assessment outside a live appointment.
🦷 How can it support infant dental care?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) supports teledentistry alongside in-person care. It can support oral-health instruction, feeding-related dietary counseling and treatment planning. It may also help a dentist assess an injury and decide how urgently care is needed.

Virtual guidance complements an ongoing relationship with a dental team; it does not replace establishing a dental home.
Ask your baby’s dental team whether a remote consultation is appropriate and what in-person follow-up is needed.
